VéloGîtes is located just ten minutes’ walk away from the vibrant village of Availles-Limouzine and is situated on the slopes of the beautiful Vienne river. VéloGîtes is a collection of French holiday cottages (gîtes) contained within a two hundred-year-old converted barn. The entrance foyer is a stunning tripple mezzanine and all the gîtes have separate entrances and access to outside terraces.
The business was launched in August 2019 with a clear objective to provide a unforgettable relaxing holiday for all guests. We have installed a 12m x 6m heated pool which overlooks the village of Availles-Limouzine. A perfect location for groups and families who wish to explore the region and all it has to offer!
VéloGîtes offers unrivalled supported cycling in a fantastic location. We are aware that not all guests wish to explore the local roads on a bicycle. You can rest assured that a stay at VéloGîtes is first and foremost a wonderful family holiday destination; a perfect place, in beautiful countryside.
Graham is a keen cyclist who recently completed a 1,150km charity bike ride from St Malo to Amsterdam. After doing extensive research, Graham found out that it was almost impossible to fuel a passion for cycling whilst taking a family holiday. Most cycling holidays in France are multi-centre tours which exclude family members who may want to just chill out around the pool or explore the local areas.
Kathy has been involved with the service sector for her entire career and loves nothing more than providing a warm welcome for all our guests. She was awarded a Guernsey customer service award which was voted for by her clients and has a passion for interior design which is reflected in the renovated gîtes.
Establishing the perfect family gîte complex in France required an amazing location. After eighteen months of searching, we found our home; Availles-Limouzine. Nestled in between rolling hills and the river Vienne valley, the village is alive with colour and activity. There is a short tree-lined path leading from VéloGîtes and past the adventure playground, in to the village. Here you will find restaurants and of course the all-important boulangerie for fresh bread and croissants. There is also a market in the village every Thursday with a number of stalls selling fresh local produce. For a full range of activities in the area, please see our page “Things to do“. Whether you like cycling, fishing, motor racing or just relaxing, there is something for everyone!
